The Financial Advisor of Bureau of Outreach and Communication, Shri Tapan Sutradhar in response to the query provided details from June 2014 onwards. In the period of 1st June 2014 to 31st march 2015, the govt spent Rs 424.85 crores on print media, Rs 448.97 crores on Electronic media and Rs 79.72 crores on outdoor publicity. In a statement issued by Anil Galgali. He further expressed that, it is ok to spend wherever necessary on publicity, but when it becomes excessive then restraint should be observed by the government and it should publish all such expenses on its website.
