Government seeks clarification for Columnwriting by IAS Rajagopal Devara

Heading the Protocol department in the Government of Maharashtra, IAS bureaucrat Rajagopal Devara has found himself in a spot of bother for his Columnwriting on the conditions of farmers faced today. The government has sought for his clarification. The said information was provided to RTI activist Anil Galgali by the General Administration Department (GAD)

In an RTI to the General Administration Department , RTI Activist Anil Galgali had sought information as to how many IAS officers were given the permission to Columnwriting  in various publications by the Government. In the reply, it was noted that from July 2012 to 30th June 2017 only 3 officers of the IAS rank were permitted to express their views by the way of editorials. Under Secretary to the Governor Parimal Singh got his permission to Columnwriting on the 10th July 2014 for a tri-monthly magazine called "Hakara". Principal Secretary (Finance) Vijay Kumar was given the permission on 14th January 2016. Then Secretary of Tribal Department, Rajagopal Devara was granted permission on 31st August 2016.   

Anil Galgali had sought information about officers who were facing inquiry for not taking permission. Galgali informed that an Columnwriting published on the 25th June 2017, Govt ask clarification sought from the Devara . It is very important to sought permission everytime who wants to Columnwriting else there is action taken based on the All India Services Law (Behaviour)of 1968 rule under Section 6 & 7. Devara had sought permission for his Columnwriting in 2016 but the 2017 Columnwriting was published without permission. Hence the  clarification ask to Rajagopal Deora by Government Of Maharashtra.
