Most of the Central Minister's were absent for the Cabinet Meetings during Assembly Election.

In the recently held Assembly Elections for 5 states the Most of Modi Cabinet Minister's was absent in the 4 cabinet meetings held during that time.This information was disclosed to RTI Activist Anil Galgali in an inquiry put forth to Central Cabinet Secretariat.

RTI Activist Anil Galgali had asked the PMO office  about the attendance of all ministers for the cabinet meetings held between 30 Jan and 23 feb 2017. The PMO office transfer Galgali's RTI application to Cabinet Secretariat situated at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Bandopadhya an Under Secretary in this Secretariat had replied to an RTI put by Galgali for the number of minister's  present in the Cabinet meetings between 30 Jan and 23 Feb 2017 . The Most number of Ministers were not present in the four cabinet meeting.For the meeting held on 1 Feb 2017 only 38 Minister's were present . For the meeting held on 8 Feb 2017 only 20 Minister's were present  For 15 Feb meeting only 12 Minister's were present. For the 22 Feb meeting  only 17 Minister's were present. The average percentage present for  first meeting was 98%. For second meeting  52% Ministers were present. In Third meeting 31% Ministers were present and in  the fourth meeting present Ministers percentage was 44%.

Apart from Prime Minister Narendra Modi there has 25 Cabinet Minister's and 13 State Minister's with Independent Charge. Uttarpradesh elections were held in 7 phases from 11 feb 2017. Uttarakhand Election Voting  was on 15 feb 2017. In Punjab and Goa it was on 4 Feb 2017 . As all the Minister's were busy in the Assembly Elections, they were unable to attend the cabinet meetings. The Secratariat refused to reveal the names of the absentee ministers citing the reason that the names of these ministers along with their attendance sheet is a part of the Ministarial documents. The meetings are mostly held on Wednesday. According to rules the PM have power to instruct to call the Cabinet Meeting any time to discuss any subject of National Importance and issue directions during these meetings.

Anil Galgali questioned the transperency of Modi Government and said that the names of the absentee Ministers should be revealed since the names of Maharashtra cabinet ministers present for the meetings is always revealed under RTI.
