Taking Cognizante of the Tweet, Govt clear Aftab Khan Cochlear Implants Surgery

If and when the Centre decides to give a nod for the surgery to be performed on Aftab Khan, the sooner he would be able to hear once again. This is a story of a 4 year Aftab Khan whose " hearing " depends on Governments approval, which has been delayed for over a year now. After RTI Activist Anil Galgali Tweet , Government Cognizante the Galgali tweet and Clear Implants Surgery of Aftab Khan and this was initiate by Central Social Justice Minister Thavar Chand Gahlot immediate attention. Awaiting for green signal from the Centre for a Cochlear Implants Surgery old. Taking the matter in his own hands RTI activist Anil Galgali has lodged a complain with Central Social Justice Minister Thavar Chand Gahlot to initiate action against the errant officers and the Doctors for negligence of the duties. The Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Hearing Handicapped institution Director Dr A K Sinha informed to Centre Social Justice and Empowerment Joint Secretary Avnish Awasthi that one implant recently received from the Cochlear India Ltd has been earmarked for this chiid. Surgery date will confirmed by B Y L Nair Charitable Hospital shortly. Hasen Baig has been referred for surgery to B Y L Nair Charitable Hospital and Hamza Baig has been referred for surgery under the CSR initiative by Mazgaon Dock. 4 year old Aaftab, a Sakinaka Andheri (East) resident has been waiting for the Governments approval for the complicated Cochlear Implant Surgery since 20th November 2014. On 17th December the Khan family recieved a go ahead for the surgery from the The Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Hearing Handicapped institution and accordingly a letter was sent accordingly on the 12th of February 2015 to one Dr. Bachi Hathiram intimating him of the case who is based in the Nair Hospital. After a visit for nearly 45 times, for same purpose Dr. Bachi and one Dr. Vicky checked Aaftab only 6 times. Accordingly a report was made and again sent to the The Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Hearing Handicapped. This is how The Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Hearing Handicapped, a Centre runned institution is making Aaftab wait for more than a year to get his hearing back. Similarly Kalyan resident Shakir Beg's children Hasnan and daughter Hamza are doing the rounds of the Insitution for more than 8 months now. Galgali has written to the Centre Social Justice Ministry to look into the matter and either say a yes or a no to perform such surgeries. Playing with a life of 4 year old, is not acceptable says Galgali. He has also come with inviting suggestions from the Government to suggest alternate ways of getting surgeries done. This is injustice on handicapped perople, feels Galgali.
