State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation has 19.5 Million square feet fragmented plots in Maharashtra

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is optimistic of providing much deserved homes for the state police, which has been prolonged for quite sometime now. The State Police Housing and the Welfare Corporation put together can make available plots admeasuring approximately 19.5 Million sqaure feet plots but in fragmaented conditions. The said plots have reservation for the construction of homes for the police and office's, Revelas RTI activist Anil Galgali. If the Government wills every police men can get Accommodation easily. Anil Galgali had filed an RTI with the State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation demanding them information pertaining with available plots / space reserved for Police homes, officers and other related activities. PRO to the State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation Mr CG Sawant proivided the necessary information for Mumbai and other districts of Maharashtra. It was concluded of State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation been recieved spaces worth 19.5 Million square feet but in fragmented condition, from the State Government. In Mumbai, plots are made available at Worli, Ghatkoper and Marol. Whereas in Pune, plots are available at Vikrant-wadi, Yervada Jail, SRPF GR 1 and SPRF GR2. Also, plots are available at Nagpur, Jalna, Satara, Amravati, Chandrapur, Jalgaon, on Nasik road at Devlali, and in Malegaon near to Nasik. More information is likely to be recieved as the said Galgali RTI has been transfer to the Mumbai and Maharashtra Police offices directly under section of 6 (3) of RTI Act, 2005. Starting from survey no 754 to 818 at Worli, plot numbering from 29 to 94, approx. 77 plots dated 14/2/1974 a total of 1 lakh 60 thousand 853 Square Yard fragmented plot was given by the state. Out of which only 16,797 Square Yard fragmented plot has been taken back, which is yet to be returned, and on the remaining space compund wall has been constructed. No such ideal land is there on the said plots which had been allocated from the period of 1974 to 1983. Thousands of houses can be constructed Nagpur, Jalna, Satara, Amravati, Chandrapur, Jalgaon, on Nasik road at Devlali, and in Malegaon near to Nasik, claims Anil galgali. Galgali has personally written to the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in this matter.Galgali remains optimistic that if the government wants, it can solve the problem of Police Housing along with the support from State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation as well as Maharashtra Police.
