Bmc Planning also fail to accept Suggestions/Objections

Even though the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) Commissioner had appealed for Suggestions/ Objections and the feedback's for the Year 2014 to 2034 development plan (DP) of the island city, it has been observed that the BMC is facing problems of a accepting Suugesstions, Objections and feedback's due to the shortage of clerks, to whom these are to be submitted at the BMC office. RTI activist Anil Galgali has appealed to the Municipal Commissioner Sitaram Kunte to set up an Independent Clerk Desk assigned for this job, for speedy actions.

President of Athak Seva Sangh and RTI activist Anil Galagli has written to the BMC Commissioner Sitaram Kunte that after the formation of the DP for the period of Year 2014 to 2034, BMC itself had asked for the Suggestions and Objections, if any, and it would be Welcomed by the Municipal Body and relevant changes will be made, if found feasible. Till the 8th of April , 2015 in all 19000 Suggestions and Objections were received  by  the BMC from the Common Public. But to handle these regularly incoming suggestions made by the public, a large number of clerks were supposed to be assigned by the BMC. It has been observed that till now only 2 clerks have been assigned for the job. There is a total kiosk to accept these Suggestions/ Objections sent by the public, but the major problem would arise once these feedbacks, Suggestions and Objections would be computerized. So much is the pressure, that the BMC's Development Planning Department on last Saturday accepted Suggestions, Objections or feedback by putting table and chair outside BMC gate no 7.

"If the BMC is serious about accepting our grievances on the DP, and if they want our feedbacks,Suggestions and Objections , 2 clerks are not enough, looking at the number of people visiting BMC for this purpose everyday.  I have requested the BMC commissioner to look into this matter urgently and asked for a minimum of 10 clerks to be assigned for this job" asserted Galgali.

"The BMC is already in the line of fire from the citizens due to the acute mistakes that have cropped up whilst preparation of the DP. Now the citizens of Mumbai are thinking if BMC is actually serious with to accept their suggestions and objections, looking at the arrangements made to accept the same" concludes Galgali.
