Black list and recover Rs 12 crores from the company, responsible for the Mumbai Development Plan fiasco

The company which was contracted to create a futuristic Development Plan for Mumbai, came out with a draft plan which could have destroyed Mumbai and led to a crisis should be black listed and the payment of Rs 12 crores made out to them should be immediately recovered, is a demand put before the CM Devendra Fadnavis by RTI Activist Anil Galgali. RTI Activist Anil Galgali has shot off a letter to CM Devendra Fadnavis, CS Swadheen Kshatriya and Municipal Commissioner Sitaram Kunte drawing attention that the previous DP for the period 1991 to 2011 was drawn and conceptualized by almost 80 Engineers and officers of the Municipal Corporation which was error free and pragmatic. The Municipal Corporation started the process of the new DP in 2009 onwards, when initially a company named 'S C India Ltd' was appointed as consultant. Since the performance of the company was far from satisfaction, the job of DP was given over to another company named 'Aegis Geo Plan'. Both the company costed the MCGM Rs 12 crores of public funds, the companies in spite of receiving the payment did not perform on the basis of practicality and ground reality, due to which the DP conceived by them was error prone and disastrous. The loss of public funds to the tune of Rs 12 crores should be forthwith recovered from both the companies with interest and both should be immediately blacklisted demanded Anil Galgali, He further demanded that action should also be initiated against the Competent Authority who were given the responsibility to supervise the conceptualization of the now famed 'Mumbai Development Plan'
